ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY: This vacancy is to be filled within the WA Government Health system by secondment, temporary deployment or fixed term contract. Current WA Government Health employees (including permanent, fixed term contract and those on secondment) are eligible to apply.
POSITION DETAILS:
Liaises and negotiates with Aboriginal patients, their families and health professionals in Fitzroy Valley for the development, planning and implementation of culturally appropriate ear health care. Provides cultural consultancy to WACHS staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal family structure, Aboriginal culture and customs and its impact on health outcomes in Aboriginal communities.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop collaborative partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently plan and organise own workload.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate health programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with minimum supervision.
- Sound computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, email and databases.
- Current C Class drivers Licence.
