About Us:

We are a leading hospitality provider situated along the iconic Great Northern Highway in the Kimberley region of Western Australia and actively seeking an energetic Accountant to join with us to play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health and integrity, ensuring efficient management of budgets, accounts, and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Responsible for bank reconciliation across the entities.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements, Instalment Activity Statements, payroll tax, FBT return.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements with trend analysis for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies.
  • Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Overview of payroll & examining operating costs and organisations’ income and expenditure with advising management of any expense overruns.
  • Liaising with banks, Auditors, ATO & other statutory bodies.
  • Responsible for the year-end audit reconciliation.
  • Assisting CFO in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
  • In conjunction with the CFO, prepare annual budgets and presentations.
  • Assist CFO with conducting financial investigations, preparing reports, undertaking audits, and advising on business matters.
  • Setting up & maintaining internal management controls
  • Contribute to the development of innovative approaches to financial service delivery, review, enhancement and implementation of procedures and systems and improved reporting practices.
  • Supervise all assistant accountants & bookkeeping personnel work.

Must have:

  • Successful candidate must have a Bachelor in Accounting/Finance or a Member of a Professional Body in Australia or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in above areas.
  • Ability to work in both MYOB and Xero.
  • Drive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and a team player with a positive mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Remuneration:

  • Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per year + Super.
  • There will be annual review of performance for higher incentives and bonuses.
  • Accommodation will be provided close to office.
