About Us:
We are a leading hospitality provider situated along the iconic Great Northern Highway in the Kimberley region of Western Australia and actively seeking an energetic Accountant to join with us to play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health and integrity, ensuring efficient management of budgets, accounts, and financial reporting.
Key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Responsible for bank reconciliation across the entities.
- Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
- Preparation of Business Activity Statements, Instalment Activity Statements, payroll tax, FBT return.
- Prepare monthly financial statements with trend analysis for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies.
- Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.
- Overview of payroll & examining operating costs and organisations’ income and expenditure with advising management of any expense overruns.
- Liaising with banks, Auditors, ATO & other statutory bodies.
- Responsible for the year-end audit reconciliation.
- Assisting CFO in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
- In conjunction with the CFO, prepare annual budgets and presentations.
- Assist CFO with conducting financial investigations, preparing reports, undertaking audits, and advising on business matters.
- Setting up & maintaining internal management controls
- Contribute to the development of innovative approaches to financial service delivery, review, enhancement and implementation of procedures and systems and improved reporting practices.
- Supervise all assistant accountants & bookkeeping personnel work.
Must have:
- Successful candidate must have a Bachelor in Accounting/Finance or a Member of a Professional Body in Australia or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in above areas.
- Ability to work in both MYOB and Xero.
- Drive for continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and a team player with a positive mindset.
- Excellent communication skills.
Remuneration:
- Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per year + Super.
- There will be annual review of performance for higher incentives and bonuses.
