Broome Veterinary Hospital is a well-established business serving the community of Broome for over 40 years. We are seeking a skilled bookkeeper to join our dedicated hard-working team.

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper and are offering a flexible 25hrs per week as a permanent part time office-based role. We’re looking for a team player who has a strong attention to detail.

Bookkeeper Job Responsibilities: 

•            Recording Financial Transactions: Inputting and categorizing financial transactions such as invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses into accounting software or spreadsheets. Must have proficient knowledge of MYOB and Excel.

•            Maintaining General Ledger: Ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger, including reconciling accounts.

•            Accounts Payable: Managing accounts payable (supplier payments, bills) and receipting customer payments.

•            Bank Reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements to ensure accuracy and identifying discrepancies.

•            Financial Reporting: Generating financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements) on a regular basis for management. Preparation of superannuation and BAS.

•            Payroll Processing: Calculating wages for fortnightly payment, and taxes; issuing pay slips.

•            Documentation and Filing: Maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records and documents and reporting to external accountant. Preparation of EOFY financials.

•            Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

•            Good communication and organizational skills

•            Relevant certifications or qualifications in accounting or finance are preferred

•            3+ years of experience in a similar role

•            Experience with MYOB AccountRight

•            Skilled with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis tools.

•            A good understanding of the main accounting principles.

•            Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy.

•            Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies.
