About BRAMS
Established in 1978, Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service Provider in Western Australia. Committed to the core principles of Aboriginal self-determination, access, equity, empowerment, and reconciliation, we are an Aboriginal community-owned and controlled health service provider that provides holistic, culturally appropriate curative services and integrated preventative programs.
With a robust governance structure and comprehensive strategic plan, we continue to grow and expand our offerings to ensure it can achieve its vision of Healthy People, Strong Communities, and Bright Futures.
At BRAMS, we pride ourselves on delivering quality evidence-based care in a holistic and culturally sensitive way, and our people are at the heart of the work we do. You will be working with a team and in a dynamic, fun, and well-supported organisation. This is your chance to make a real difference while working in the beautiful West Coast of Australia.
Your new opportunity
BRAMS now has an exciting opportunity for multiple full-time, part-time and casual Aged Care & Disability Support Workers to join the multidisciplinary healthcare team in Broome, WA.
Reporting to the Family Services Team Leader, you will provide support services to community members accessing Aged Care and NDIS services. Your duties will include helping clients with transport, running errands, household chores, and personal chores. As part of this role, you will need to fill out appropriate forms and reports in their case files.
Being a part of the growing family and community services team, you will provide a person-centred approach to care and support for people accessing these services and will work largely autonomously, while still having the support of your team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about helping vulnerable members of the community retain their independence and providing person-centred support. Experience in some administrative work is necessary, as you will need to maintain case files.
A Certificate III in Aged Care or Disability Support is an advantage, but if you don’t hold this, we will support you to get your qualification while working. The ability to work autonomously while communicating successfully with people from all backgrounds will also be important in this role.
Finally, you will be a caring and compassionate individual who is self-motivated and passionate about your field of work.
You will need to hold a current Australian Driver’s License and will need to have or obtain a current Working With Children Check (OCHRE Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check and National Police Clearance prior to starting with us.
What you’ll receive
This position is an incredibly rare opportunity to join a well-established and supported Aboriginal Medical Service within a pivotal role. BRAMS is an organisation that truly values its team, and is committed to improving employee knowledge, skills and experience. In addition, staff development programs are not only encouraged but are often paid for by BRAMS.
In addition to a competitive salary from $72,500 – $75,500 FTE plus super, you will receive a host of generous benefits as part of the BRAMS family, including:
- Salary-sacrificing options, up to $15,900 annually, to maximise your earning potential and increase your take-home pay
- Professional development opportunities, so you can sharpen your skills and broaden your horizons during your time with us
- Additional leave entitlements, including 5 weeks annual leave and 13 weeks long service leave after 7 years of service
Working closely with patients, their families and carers, this is a role where you will witness the direct positive impact you’re making in the community, as part of a close-knit team. You will be continually recognised for your dedication and hard work!
