About The Role

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Marine Experiences, the Aviation CEO is responsible for the strategic leadership of two AOC’s. One AOC is based in Broome operating six Cessna Caravan Floatplanes and the second is in Darwin operating one Cessna Grand Caravan 208 and one Cessna 210 as well as leased assets from time to time. This role will be based in Broome, WA with frequent travel to Darwin, NT.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Through acting as the CASA liaison, the Aviation CEO will maintain a constructive working relationship with the regulator to ensure the business operates effectively and all compliance requirements are maintained
  • Accept the responsibilities of Director of Maintenance for the in-house aircraft engineering organisation in Broome
  • Collaborating with internal key stakeholders to develop operational planning, ensuring optimum scheduling/timetables across the respective operations to deliver the best commercial outcomes
  • A hands on approach to leading, developing, managing, and mentoring the aviation teams, fostering a high-performance environment and retention of key talent through proactive training and development
  • Ensuring planned and efficient delivery of the aircraft and aircraft fleet engineering program in conjunction with the Head of Flight Operations and the Engineering Team
  • Optimising asset utilisation and revenue generation through an effective and appropriately timed servicing regime as well as potential cross hire of aircraft
  • Ensuring the ongoing air worthiness of the aircraft including fleet and inventory management of aircraft parts in conjunction with the Engineering Team
  • Actively participate in the aviation safety committee, corporate meetings and group wide activities and projects as required

About You

You will have experience in aviation management roles and aircraft operations, with fixed wing or floatplane pilot qualifications a bonus.  You are an agent for change and continuous improvement and have both a strategic and commercial approach to business planning and execution. Your collaborative hands on working style is coupled with your strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, has excellent attention to detail and great problem solving/decision making skills.
