Your Role

Total responsibility for food storage, preparation, cooking and serving to impress. The crew will fillet and prepare the catch of the day for you to create a mouthwatering feast.  Cleaning and looking after the vessels kitchen and living spaces and maintaining the latest hygiene standards.

Essential Selection Criteria

  1. Must have experience working as a Chef in a quality cafe, restaurant, hotel or vessel.
  2. Certificate II in Kitchen operations; equivalent or above
  3. Love working in a small team on a small vessel.
  4. Have a passion for delivering an outstanding dining experience.
  5. Ability to interact with guests in a friendly yet professional manner
  6. An understanding of service etiquette or the ability to assimilate  this information quickly
  7. Ability to anticipate guests needs and wishes for their adventure
  8. Previous relevant experience in a marine environment will be useful and we will help progress your development and sea time
  9. Must complete AHA Hospitality & Tourism Hygiene Officer Course
  10. Must be located in the Kimberly region

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Purchasing all stores for operation at sea for up to 14 days
  • Loading provisions drinks and stores
  • Cleaning vessel with crew prior to guest arrival
  • Making beds prior to embarkation and on guest change over
  • Maintain the freshness of all stores and a clean environment
  • Menu planning according to activity schedule, guest preferences and catch of the day
  • Serving fresh healthy and delightful meals
  • Cleaning and sanitising the kitchen/saloon and living areas to the latest hygiene standards
  • The hostess may join excursions in the dinghies from time to time if possible
  • Looking after the guests as they relax at the end of the day’s adventure and assist securing the vessels for the night
  • Photography of guests adventure and assist in the preparation of a tour album and slide show presentation
  • Cleaning the kitchen accommodation and living areas after cruise ready for the next
  • Storing remaining provisions onshore

The days are full and big for our crew and our guests. To succeed at this job you must love your craft. We are looking forward to a rest at the end of each tour but soon want to get back out there.

This is a part-time position as we are not yet fully booked for the season. The successful applicant must be based in the Kimberley.
