Community Support  Day/Night Shift Worker Full/Part Time/Casual

The community Support Worker will provide practical and emotional support to women and children experiencing crisis through Domestic & Family Violence or homelessness through Domestic and Family Violence.

The Community Support Worker will act as first point of contact for clients by assessing and screening clients in order to respond appropriately and effectively to their needs.

This position is responsible for working within a team based case management model, to provide a range of support, advocacy and referral services to women who are in crisis because of family and/or domestic violence.

The Support Worker will work under the supervision of the Team Leader to ensure the professional delivery of services to the clients.

 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the functioning of the team.
  • Ability to model positive behaviours, emotional maturity, coping skills and resilience.
  • Good interpersonal and effective oral & written communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic computer skills including Microsoft office and client reporting system
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.

Required Compliance Documents

  • Current WA drivers licence without restrictions
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Certificate
