There is an opportunity for a skilled Dry Fire Technician to join our team, offering the unique experience of working throughout the rugged and dramatic Kimberley region on a flexible FIFO roster.

About the role

You will be the lead tech on site for installation, upgrades, investigation and repair of fire detection and alarm systems. With the added diversity of performing repair, and routine servicing/testing of all essential fire systems and equipment.

This is a field-based role, travelling throughout the Kimberley, servicing a diverse range of sites. From major government and private infrastructure to mine sites and remote communities (so remote that during the wet season, they are only accessible by air!).

Attendance to priority call outs that require quick thinking, to provide on the ground solutions for the rectification of defects.

Working both autonomously and in a team. Managing works on site, liaising with suppliers and skill sharing with our team

Wages dependent on skillset/experience, we are looking for a can-do positive attitude with proven hands-on industry experience and knowledge of the relevant standards.

FIFO – with flights and travel included for West Australian or Northern territory based technicians only. 

Key requirements

  • A working knowledge of both AS1670 and AS1851-2012 and proven background in fire services inspection and testing, and/or installation.
  • Installation and config experience with Ampac, Notifier, Simplex and Vesda systems
  • Ability to adhere to all WHS requirements for each client site
  • Well presented with excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic
  • Reasonable level of fitness
  • Suppression system service experience highly regarded.
  • We run a paperless operation and therefore the successful candidate must be competent with using tablet/mobile phone apps.

Required certification.

  • Open Cable License
  • Construction White Card
  • EWP & High-Risk license
  • Clean valid manual drivers’ license
  • Police clearance: or ability to obtain
  • FPAS Accreditation – preferred
  • Cert II in Fire Protection – preferred
  • Electrical License – Highly regarded but not essential
