About Us

Job Pathways, formerly known as East Kimberley Job Pathways (EKJP), is a not-for-profit community development organisation co-owned by two respected Aboriginal organisations—Wunan Foundation and KREAC.

We manage the Federal Government’s Community Development Program (CDP) across the broader East Kimberley and Halls Creek/Tjurabalan regions and oversee the Workforce Australia program in Broome, Western Australia. Additionally, through our Wayfinder department, we provide National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services, and under our Revive department, we operate the Containers Deposit Scheme (CDS) across the East Kimberley and Halls Creek/Tjurabalan regions.

Job Summary:

As an Employment Officer at Job Pathways, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our participants (job seekers) to transform their lives. You will deliver high level customer service and work closely with employers and job seekers to create customised job solutions. You will empower our participants, supporting them into sustainable employment, building their independence and improving their wellbeing. You’ll be part of a fast-moving, supportive team, working together to make a real difference.

 

Responsibilities:

• Assist job seekers in finding opportunities that fulfill their mutual obligations and match their personal goals

• Make sure job seekers are fully involved by conducting culturally sensitive, strengths-based assessments that focus on their ability to find and keep meaningful employment

• Maintain electronic records of job seekers, including their appointments, case notes, job plans, goals, and other important details

• Help job seekers understand and manage their Points Reporting Period

• Provide coaching and mentoring to job seekers during their post-placement support phase

• Help early school leavers meet their mutual obligations

• Provide ongoing support to clients as they navigate the job search process

 

Mandatory Experience:

• Experience working with clients who have complex needs, such as disabilities, drug and alcohol dependency, homelessness, domestic violence, and mental health issues

• Previous experience working with Indigenous Australians and organisations, along with an understanding of the social, economic, and environmental challenges faced by rural and remote communities

• Experience in Microsoft Office suite

• Well developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, liaise and consult with a wide range of stakeholders

 

Other Requirements:

• A MyGovID

• A current C class motor vehicle license

• Willing to complete a National Police Check

• Able to pass a Working with Children Check
