About us
The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service which has been caring for the Broome community for more than 45 years. When we first opened our doors in 1978, BRAMS was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia.
We deliver comprehensive, holistic and culturally responsive primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support to more than 6500 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Broome region.

About the role
The Finance Officer is responsible for managing various payroll and financial operations within the organisation.
This role ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with relevant regulations, and effective financial reporting.
The Finance Officer will handle tasks related to payroll processing, payroll liability control, and employee terminations and reimbursements, and other finance duties as required.
The employee will be required to participate in the development of an individual workplan which will include key result areas associated with their position, and a requirement to demonstrate appropriate behaviours which reflect a commitment to BRAMS values and strategic directions.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Book-keeping, or willingness to complete one; and
- Experience in accounts and finance or relevant role.
The following is also desirable:
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated IT competence particularly in MS Excel.
- Experience using complex electronic management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
