About the Role

We currently have opportunities available in our Graduate Engineer (Electrical) program to offer recent university graduates with a Bachelor of Electrical or Electronic Engineering within the last three (3) years.

Applications will also be considered from current students who will be completing their degree by July 2024 for our mid-year intake, or December 2024 for our 2025 intake.

Our three-year rotational program across different areas of Main Roads will allow you to have hands on participation in high profile electrical engineering projects across the State, including electrical asset management, development, design, delivery, and operations.

Depending on your skills, strengths, and interests, you will spend time on rotation in some of the following areas:

  • Project Development
  • Project Delivery
  • Electrical Asset Management
  • Electrical Standards
  • Project Management – Road Network Operations Centre (RNOC)

To be considered for our Graduate Engineer (Electrical) Program, you must:

  • Be a recent university graduate (within 3 years from completion of your bachelor’s degree) or have your degree completed by July 2024 for our mid-year intake, or December 2024 for our 2025 intake.
  • Be motivated to work at Main Roads, demonstrated through your strengths and personal attributes
  • Have a career interest in electrical engineering
  • Have strong problem solving skills, including embracing change and challenge
  • Be great at working together in teams
  • Be able to build relationships with stakeholders

Please submit the following documentation in your application:

  • A copy of your completed Bachelor Degree of Electrical or Electronic Engineering within the last three (3) years and your academic transcript. Applicants that are currently completing their studies are to submit their most current academic results.Overseas qualifications will need to be accompanied with confirmation of Australian equivalency.
  • A current CV
  • A copy of your current WA Driver’s Licence (or approved equivalent)
  • A cover letter outlining why you would like to join our Graduate Engineer (Electrical) program, highlighting your skills and abilities relevant to the role.

Successful applicants will need to complete a pre-employment medical assessment and may be required to complete a National Police Check prior to appointment.
