The HMC Group has extensive aviation, tourism and accommodation operations in some of the most iconic regions of Australia and is seeking to appoint a Group Finance Manager to support to the CFO and the Group Financial Controller. The role can be Perth or Broome based.

About the role
As the Group Finance Manager, you will provide support to the CFO and the Group Financial Controller including, responsibility for the Management Accounting team, month end procedures, treasury management and other financial and administrative duties as required.
Key duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Management Accounting team, including workflow management
- Responsible for month end processes to ensure deadlines are met
- Review transactions and workpapers produced by the Management Accounting team, including reviewing month end reconciliations, reviewing journals, including prepayments, accruals and depreciation, supervising maintenance of fixed asset registers and supervising maintenance of lease liability registers
- Assist with processing transactions for smaller entities in the Group
- Responsible for preparation of monthly and quarterly BAS returns
- Regularly review month-end processes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Day-to-day management of Group bank accounts, including daily reporting to the CFO and the Group Financial Controller
- Maintenance of 13-week cash-flow forecast including reporting actual results against forecast on a weekly basis
- Responsible for weekly and ad-hoc Accounts Payable payment runs
- Responsible for Accounts Receivable collections, including liaising with Management Accounting team and customers, as appropriate
- Manage Equipment Finance applications, including liaising with financiers and gathering information required for applications.
- Responsible for managing end of financial year end processes, including being the lead contact for auditors
- Responsible for the preparation and review of annual financial statements and tax returns for entities in the Group
- Assist with grant compliance, including acquittals
- Assist with finance projects such as system and process upgrades, financial reports etc
- Other duties as directed by the CFO and the Group Financial Controller.
To be successful in this role
Thrive when working as part of a team, excellent communication skills, as well as the following:
- Accounting Qualifications (CPA, CA preferred)
- At least 5 years post degree professional or commercial experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Xero or equivalent
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
- An eye for detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to work in and positively contribute to a team environment
- The ability to work independently
