SUPPORT WORKER (Broome WA – Fulltime)

Centacare Kimberley is looking for Support Worker to provide Homelessness Support Services to people referred to, and accessing services through our Broome service centre.

These are exciting roles that would suit someone who is motivated to provide quality services and has the skills to deliver structured case managed support.

If you believe you are a good communicator who can effectively engage with people, and has a good level of experience in delivering social support, we would like you to apply for these roles.

Centacare Kimberley is a growing organization that has a strong local workforce. We offer attractive salaries, 5 weeks annual leave, access to a range of salary sacrificing benefits, 11.5% Superannuation and an accommodation allowance.  The hours of employment are 38 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Knowledge and understanding of social and economic issues facing people living in the Kimberley region.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, inter generational trauma and the impacts that colonization and dispossession have had on Aboriginal people in Australia.
  • Effective communication skills, people engagement skills and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Experience with delivering structured case management in a social services context..
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Have a ‘National Police Check Clearance.’ (less than 3 months old)
  • Have a current ‘Working with Children Check Clearance.’
  • Current Western Australian ‘C’ class motor vehicle driver’s license.

DESIRABLE:

  • Qualifications with relevant working experience and/or working experience in one of the following fields: Social Welfare; Community Health; Education; Community Development or Social Housing
  • Aboriginal people are strongly encouraged to apply.
