About the Project

Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon, leucoxene, and rutile, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Casual HR Generalist to provide hands-on HR support across recruitment, employee relations, learning & development, and HR administration.

This role is based in our Broome office, working approximately 32 hours per week with flexibility depending on business needs. The successful candidate must also be able to travel to site as required.

This position is required on a short-term basis, with the potential for a longer arrangement depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding – Assist with advertising roles, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and supporting new starter processes.
  • Employee Relations – Provide support to managers and employees on HR-related queries, workplace matters, and policy interpretation.
  • HR Administration & Compliance – Maintain HR records, update policies, and ensure compliance with workplace laws and procedures.
  • HR Advisory & Support – Provide guidance on HR best practices and assist with various HR initiatives.
  • Deliver Presentations & Training – Facilitate HR-related sessions for employees and leaders.
  • On-Site Support – Travel to site approximately one night per week to provide direct HR assistance.

About You

  • WA C-Class driver’s license required
  • Experience in an HR generalist role (or similar HR function).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive and adaptable approach.
  • Willingness to travel to site for approximately one night per week.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
