ABOUT THE MEDICAL TRAINING CENTRE.

Kimberley Centre for Remote Medical Training (KCRMT) is a Commonwealth funded, end-to-end rural medical program based on the University’s Broome campus. KCRMT is one of the components that forms the University’s RHMT program which sits within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery and Health Sciences. The aim of KCRMT is to contribute to strengthening the medical workforce in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions. This is achieved through health research and the delivery of a fully accredited 4-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program that is supported by dedicated academic and professional staff based in the Kimberley. The program will transform the Broome campus, Kimberley, and Pilbara regions and develop the medical workforce in the region.
ABOUT THE ROLE 
This position supports the delivery of Basic and Clinical Sciences component in Years 1 and 2 (Foundation Years) of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
Key Responsibilities 

  • Teach the BCS portfolio in the Foundation Years, including delivering laboratory tutorials, lectures, and other activities.
  • Assist in updating the BCS curriculum and developing related laboratory activities and tutorials.
  • Provide support and mentorship to students.
  • Collaborate with the assessment team to develop, align, evaluate, and renew BCS assessment items, including exams and continuous assessments.
  • Attend and engage in relevant meetings, committees, and events, and perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager or National Head of School.

ABOUT YOU 

  • Hold a PhD in Science or a Health-related qualification registrable with AHPRA.
  • Have experience teaching at the Masters level or higher, or in medical, health, or professional practice-based education settings.
  • Possess experience teaching anatomy and physiology.
  • Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with people at all levels.
  • Show proven organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks within set deadlines.
  • Exhibit the capability to work autonomously and as part of a team and navigate basic administrative tasks on Learning Management Systems.
