Are you passionate about aquaculture and marine life? Join our team at Australia’s only ocean-grown barramundi farm and play a vital role in our Nursery operations! Based at the Broome Aquaculture Park, you’ll work a 5 days on, 2 days off roster in a casual capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Take charge of daily tasks in the Barramundi Nursery, including preparing feeds and ensuring the fish are fed efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor fish health through routine checks, using microscopy and visual observation to identify, diagnose, and resolve health issues promptly.
- Conduct regular water quality sampling and testing using advanced tools to maintain optimal conditions for the fish.
- Follow strict biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks, including disinfecting and cleaning nursery tanks and equipment.
- Oversee the overall health and well-being of the fish, ensuring any potential issues are escalated and addressed quickly.
Role requirements:
- Hands-on experience in aquaculture or nursery/hatchery operations.
- Tertiary qualifications in aquaculture, marine science, or marine biology (highly desirable).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong self-management, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, alcohol, and drug screening.
- Full-time working rights in Australia.
