Far North is the largest registered NDIS provider based in the iconic Kimberley and we continue to grow! We are a dynamic not-for-profit organisation that is founded, based and operating in the stunning Kimberley with therapy teams based in Broome and Kununurra.

Our mission is to provide high quality, culturally sensitive therapy intervention to individuals throughout the wide Kimberley region. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Senior Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapist who shares our values to join our team in Kununurra and Broome. Our aim is to be culturally aware and assist in building the capacity of the person, their families, their community and/or their support teams to develop the strengths of each individual to promote engagement within their community.

The Kimberley region offers one of the most diverse and breath taking landscapes in the world. Hiking and swimming in waterholes in your time off – you’ll never run out of places to explore and adventures to go on.

 

The Role
Work within a transdisciplinary team of passionate therapists in Kununurra and throughout The Kimberley. We provide therapy in our well-equipped facilities but mainly visit our participants in their own homes or in the community. Furthermore, we provide therapy services in very remote areas and communities. Therefore we offer professional 4WD courses to make sure you have the best experience reaching your clients in our company cars on dirt roads or through river crossings. We also charter small private aircrafts to get you to some of the most remote and pristine communities that Australia has to offer. You will have the opportunity to work with children and adults who are culturally and linguistically diverse and have a wide range of disabilities.

  • 1x Senior Occupational Therapist (Kununurra)
  • 2x Occupational Therapist (Broome)

 

Essential skills, experience & qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current AHPRA Registration (Full registration)
• Excellent interpersonal manner and cross-cultural skills for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
• Willingness to learn and grow
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
• Willing to obtain NDIS Worker’s Clearance
• Current (WA)Australian Driver’s License
• Current Working with Children’s Check (or willing to obtain)
• Current First Aid Certificate including CPR
• Vaccinated for Covid19 (Recommended 3 vaccinations)
