Today it stands as a beacon of tradition and excellence in the pearl farming industry. Our farms are located between Broome and Cygnet Bay, on the tip of the pristine Dampier Peninsula. We are privileged to be able to work in areas known for their beauty, serenity and untamed ruggedness of the Kimberley Coast. The Kimberley marine environment is truly unique with the worlds largest tropical tides, and strong currents, which presents challenges for marine operations but is also the reason for our highly productive pearl farms.

Job Description:

As a farm Diver & Skipper at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining our pearl oysters and related hardware. Reporting to the Pearling Supervisors and Senior Management, you’ll oversee diving operations and surface line maintenance as a Skipper and conduct bottom line duties as a Diver. Your leadership will guide a crew of 2 deckhands (Skipper) and ensure seamless collaboration with the dive tender to achieve our farm’s objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute diving activities, pearl oyster husbandry, assist with research & development projects, and a range of other farm duties that occur across the seasons.
  • Conduct underwater and vessel operations with precision and safety.
  • Facilitate induction and training for new crew members on pearl farming techniques.
  • Uphold OH&S policies and serve as a role model for best practices within the company.

Skills & Experience:

  • Coxswains Grade 3 NC certification or better
  • Valid Provide First Aid certification.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong reporting and organizational abilities.


  • Pearl Producers Association Divers Licence.
  • Rescue Diver Certificate.
  • Commercial Dive Medical AS/NZS 2299.1:2007.
  • Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Provider certifications.
