About this Job

About us

The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service which has been caring for the Broome community for more than 45 years. When we first opened our doors in 1978, BRAMS was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia.

We deliver comprehensive, holistic and culturally responsive primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support to more than 6500 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Broome region.

BRAMS takes pride in providing a friendly and supportive workplace with generous salary packaging, access to a range of leave (including study leave), and opportunities for career advancement.

About the role

The Registered Nurse is to work part of a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally safe primary health care services. This role involves managing chronic disease clinics, delivering nursing services to aged care and disability programs, and working alongside the primary health care team to provide clinical services within the clinic.

The Registered Nurse will deliver care across a diverse range of specialty areas, including chronic disease management, aged care, NDIS, child health, and allied health.

The role aims to provide responsive, multidisciplinary care focused on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals with chronic diseases, people with disabilities, and older adults. Additionally, the Nurse will offer education and support to non-clinical staff.

Furthermore, the Registered Nurse is responsible for upholding BRAMS’ Model of Care and Quality Care Framework within the Community Health Team.

The employee will be required to participate in the development of an individual workplan which will include key result areas associated with their position, and a requirement to demonstrate appropriate behaviours which reflect a commitment to BRAMS values and strategic directions.
