About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experience Security Screening Manager to oversee the security screening operations at BIA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of passenger screening processes and screening points, in full compliance with all relevant aviation security regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a team of security screening personnel, providing leadership, training, and ongoing support to ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with security standards.
• Overseeing rostering and timesheet approvals to ensure staffing levels meet operational demands.
• Leading daily operations in the screening areas, ensuring timely, efficient, and accurate processing while maintaining excellent customer service and continuously improving security measures.

About the person we seek

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a team in a high-pressure environment. You will be a strategic thinker, capable of prioritising tasks effectively and making sound decisions under pressure.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following essential requirements:

• A strong understanding of aviation security regulations and extensive hands-on experience with screening technologies such as X-ray machines and metal detectors.
• Certificate II in Aviation Screening Operations or other relevant industry qualifications.
• A current C Class manual driver’s licence and the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
