About this Job
The Soft Entry Coordinator is a key member of the Family Domestic Violence (FDV) Support Hub and is responsible for implementing soft entry activities for the FDV Hub. These activities are designed to provide women and their children with pathways into support services without direct identification as FDV-specific, fostering trust, reducing stigma, and offering holistic, wrap-around assistance. The role involves collaboration with partner organizations, coordination of group programs, and facilitation of meaningful engagement for victim-survivors of FDV.
The main objectives of this position are:
Program Development and Implementation:

- Deliver a mix of psycho-educational, educational, practical, and wellbeing-focused activities tailored for adults, children, and young people
- Plan and implement scheduled workshops, drop-in sessions, pop-up events, and one-on-one coaching sessions, including special activities aligned with community events (e.g., Mother’s Day, International Women’s Day) across the Hub’s three sites.
Community Engagement and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with partner agencies such as Family Outreach Service, Anglicare WA, and other Alliance partners to deliver culturally safe and community-centred programming.
- Actively engage with Elders, Lived Experience Reference Groups, program participants, and local service providers to gather input and ensure the program reflects community needs and priorities.
- Work closely with partner organizations to deliver programs that integrate skills training, cultural knowledge, health, arts, social connection, and recreation.
Facilitation and Coordination:
- Coordinate and facilitate group programs and workshops, ensuring activities promote social connection, wellbeing, and healing.
- Build trusting relationships with participants, offering alternative therapeutic options for those who may not be comfortable with traditional counselling settings.
- Support victim-survivors of FDV by connecting them with holistic, wrap-around services and fostering social inclusion.
Planning and Reporting:
- Collaboratively plan soft entry programming on a term-based schedule with input from the Alliance Operations Group, Elders, and Lived Experience Reference Groups.
- Develop and adhere to processes that ensure all perspectives are considered during planning.
- Report on program outcomes, participant feedback, and engagement metrics to the Hub Manager.
Networking and Marketing:
- Actively network and market available support services and programs through community outreach and partnerships.
- Liaise with other service providers, community groups, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive service delivery and promotion.
