About Us: Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge offers unique accommodation and adventurous outback helicopter, safari and 4WD experiences along the famous Gibb River Road. With its unbeatable proximity to iconic Kimberley landmarks, Mount Hart is the perfect gateway to explore the West Kimberley including the Horizontal Falls (just 40 mins away by helicopter) and Buccaneer Archipelago, Twin Flame Falls, Bell Gorge, Windjana Gorge, Tunnel Creek, Charnley River Gorge and much more.
The Role: We are seeking an outgoing and engaging Tour Guide to lead guests on unforgettable journeys through the spectacular Kimberley region. As a Tour Guide, you will play a key role in delivering outback experiences, sharing local history and culture, and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests on each adventure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead guests on guided tours of the Kimberley region, sharing insights into the local environment, culture, history and wildlife.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of guests during tours, providing first aid when necessary, and adhering to all safety protocols.
- Educate and inspire guests through engaging commentary and storytelling, offering a deep understanding of the region.
- Coordinate all aspects of the tours, including managing timing, logistics and guest requirements.
- Deliver outstanding service to ensure each guest has a memorable experience, responding to questions and addressing any concerns with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Work closely with the lodge team to ensure seamless operations and communication throughout the tour process.
- Provide recommendations on additional experiences and activities in the Kimberley area to enhance guests’ overall stay.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience as a tour guide is preferred but not essential. Those without experience must be able to outline transferable skills in a customer facing role.
- Strong knowledge of the region’s natural history, wildlife, and cultural heritage.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and educate guests of all ages and backgrounds.
- Passion for nature, outdoor activities, and sharing your knowledge with others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid first aid certification and ability to handle emergency situations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and in all weather conditions.
- 4WD driving experience is highly desirable.
- Manual driver’s licence required.
