Trades Assistant / Trainee Fire Tech

Are you looking to start a new career in the fire industry? Kimberley Fire Systems (KFS) has an exciting opportunity for a Trades Assistant to join our team.

About the role:

This is a field-based role with a requirement to work/travel away from home throughout the Kimberley on a regular basis. Both autonomously and as part of team.

The position involves routine servicing, testing, installation, and repair of fire systems and equipment in accordance with AS1851-2012, and associated install standards. Although knowledge of Australian standards is advantageous, full training will be provided.

Providing the opportunity to complete nationally accredited industry qualifications to become a certified Fire technician for the right candidate.

Wages are dependent on skill set/experience

We are seeking someone with a thirst for further training who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. Someone that likes to tinker with tools, electronics and/or machinery, and is keen to upskill to gain the knowledge to investigate and rectify faults.

We run a paperless operation and therefore the successful candidate must be competent with using tablet/mobile phone apps.

Key requirements

• Reasonable level of fitness
• Well presented with excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work away from home on a regular basis (minimum one week a month).
• Current manual drivers’ license is essential.
• Police clearance: or ability to obtain.
• Construction Induction Safety certificate (White Card); or ability to obtain.
• Ability to adhere to all WHS requirements for each client site
