About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Service Technician that specialises in Water Treatment Services with a proven track record in achieving results in a similar position and enjoys working independently in remote locations.

The Water Treatment Service Technician is responsible for the cyclic maintenance and repair of water treatment systems in remote locations throughout the Kimberley region. This position will form part of a small, highly skilled team who are responsible for ensuring systems maintain water quality pursuant with contract obligations and compliant with ADWG requirements.

Key responsibilities of the role

  • Service and maintenance of potable water disinfection systems (inclusive of liquified chlorine gas systems)
  • Repairs and emergency breakdown response to potable water disinfection systems (inclusive of liquified chlorine gas systems)
  • Ability to identify and diagnose faults
  • Ability to manage physical and hybrid records, logbooks and reporting

Location
The role will operate on a drive in/drive out roster basis from Broome to remote communities in the Kimberley.
Local Kimberley residents are encouraged to apply as are candidates who are interested in relocating to Broome. FIFO is available for those located outside of the Kimberley region on a 16:14 roster.

What you will need
An ability to demonstrate a high work ethic, integrity, and safe work practices together with a positive mindset.

Essential criteria: 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in water treatment industry
  • Relevant trade qualification (mechanical, electrical, or plumbing)
  • Capacity to work in remote location, inclusive of driving on remote unsealed roads
  • Experience with water disinfection and or treatment process
  • Certification with chlorine handling
  • C class driver’s licence
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience in water sample collection and infield testing
  • Light rigid driver’s licence
  • Provide First Aid
  • SCBA qualification
