Key Responsibilities

The Head Housekeeper is primarily responsible for the cleanliness and presentation of the apartments and reception area of our 4 Star property. You will manage the housekeeping team of up to 15 staff.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a can-do attitude, be hands-on, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a passion for customer service, a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, strong team building skills, and a strong understanding of workplace safety.

You will be punctual, reliable and well presented. You will have a complete understanding of the Employee Handbook and you will perform any reasonable task within the general parameters of this role as directed by your immediate manager.

Daily/Standards

– Prepare daily work assignments based on daily reports from reservations system
– Assign duties to team
– Ordering of stock
– Communicate with front office team on apartments status
– Investigate and resolve complaints pertaining to the housekeeping of the apartments
– Manage apartment inventory
– Attend regular staff meetings
– Monitor the quality of linen and report/follow up where necessary
– Organise laundering and ordering of linen

Management

– Good communication through all teams where necessary
– A professional and discreet approach to staff requirements
– Motivate and encourage staff to meet goals and incentives
– Issue Disciplinary warnings where applicable
– Coordinate contractors/outside staff
– Staff Supervision
– Hiring of new staff

Finances

– Follow monthly and Yearly budgets
– Compliance in use of company accounts
– Manage departmental accounts receivable

Previous experience in housekeeping is essential, and experience with supervision or leading a housekeeping team would be an advantage.

The successful applicant must be available Friday to Tuesday, have full entitlements to work in Australia and be a permanent Broome resident.
