The Role

In this role you will be responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective food service, with the smooth day-to-day operation in one of our Commercial Kitchens, consisting of a rotating roster over breakfast, lunch & dinner, with consistent superior guest focus at the forefront of all activities. You will work with the Head Chef to produce an unforgettable dining experience.

Duties

  • Ensure the kitchen complies with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Control and direct food preparation
  • Work closely with Head Chef to manage and direct kitchen brigade
  • Working with Head Chef on wastage, stock control, ordering
  • Ensure a strong relationship with Front of house team

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef
  • Formal trade qualifications in commercial cooking or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Ability to prep and organise ahead
  • Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
  • Current Drivers License.

This role includes extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery
